Conference on Precision Electromagnetic Measurements

Partner programme

Some delegates were accompanied in London by their partners, family or friends. CPEM 2004 was pleased to offer the following optional programme designed to show those accompanying delegates some of the sights that London has to offer.
Those on this tour were be accompanied at all times by a guide, and there was also free time allocated for people to explore sights that particularly interest them.

On Friday the 2nd July, conference delegates were given the option to travel to the National Physical Laboratory for a tour and an evening barbecue. Partners were also welcome at this evening event. NPL is situated near Richmond, Twickenham and Hampton Court Palace.

Sunday 27th June Welcome reception at Just StJames
Monday 28th June Open top bus tour taking in Buckingham Palace, Piccadilly, Trafalgar Square, Downing Street, Houses of Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral. Includes a tour of the Tower of London
Tuesday 29th June Boat trip along the Thames to the Tate Modern. Tour of Shakespeare's Globe theatre. Walk along river taking in Tate Modern and the South Bank complex
Wednesday 30th June Bus to Harrods for Brunch, the a free afternoon before joining conference delegate for Conference dinner at theScience Museum
Thursday 1st July Tour of Hampton Court Palace
Friday 2nd July Free morning with option to join delegate transport to Teddington at lunchtime. Free afternoon followed by barbecue at NPL
